It occurred to me today that last time I posted it was about contracting the plague. Booooring. But think of it as a positive - what I actually got is the Dangue fever (which Dad affectionately calls the "dang" fever), so now whenever you play "2 truths and a lie" you already have a ridiculous fact ready in your arsenal.
I've been a little sad about this trip coming to a close early... I kind of feel like I just got acclimated - I finally can do the cheek-kissy-thingima-whatsit that they do here without looking completely clueless, lol. But I have learned more about who I want to be, and perhaps more importantly, who I want to be everyday.
It's been really fun to get to know the people of Brazil - probably my favorite thing about them is the way in which they express their feelings for one another. In our American culture it seems like physical expressions have become taboo because they're often used so selfishly, but here it seems to me that people who show their feelings physically generally do it out of respect and love. Mom and I love to all the families that walk together and holding each others hands.
Even though this trip hasn't turned out how any of us really planned it to, it's been a good time for me, at least, to relax and re-evaluate. Sometimes I get so excited about learning I forget to live, haha :)
It's also been great to get to know my parents better. Not only are they fun and good, but they're highly intelligent and ambitious people - they're doing great here.
Meanwhile, I've got to go finish packing and get lunch ready for the gang, so I'll sign off for now.

I was wondering how you were feeling about the trip coming to a close. That is sad, but I suppose after your parents have their Wii, they'll be glad things worked out that way. I love what you said about people expressing their affections there and how it is different here. The people in my mission were like that too. Well I hope we'll be able to come up and spend time with you all soon!
