Mundaneity: part II

When I was sitting down this afternoon all by my bonny-wee lonesome, just enjoying the sunshine, a little bird flew down onto my head, looked me reproachfully in the eye and said, "Danielle, you stink at follow-through. When was the last time you wrote a short story? You should at the very least write on your blog. Evermore, Evermore!"
Ok, so that's a little exagerrated, but I really do stink at follow-through - especially with the projects I love the most. Isn't that weird? So I've decided that I'm going to do better, and actually do a decent job of it, instead of politely exchanging pleasantries and observations on the weather with my best ideas. Yes... my life is very much like a Jane Austen novel. Minus Mr. Darcy. I always liked Edward Ferrars better, anyway :).

I decided to do a series of writing prompts to get the ol' writing juju going:

1)Freewrite for 5 minutes starting with "Behind her the noise escalated..." (source: creativewritingprompts.com)

Behind her the noise escalated - it growled, it fizzled, it shook, and it snapped. It crept up inside a girl and tiptoed down her spine like a breeze in November. But there was no relief - nope, nothing doing . There was no time, no place to show frustration or anxiety. It had no heart - there was no pleadin' word or persuasion that could shake it for it had no ears. This was a voice born of an iron toungue - it spoke, therefore she was. Little metal dictator, a destroyer of peace, brooded with one arm folded, one peircing the sky - rattling and cursing until finally... with a heave and a sigh, Georgia staggered out of bed and into the dark dawn.

(it's an old-fashioned alarm clock)

Pretty good for five minutes, I guess.

Other than the usual, nothing's really going on with me. I mostly just job hunt, hang out with friends, and work on flute or painting. It's a little weird to be in Rexburg and not be in school. I guess it's not that long until class starts, but it's still a little weird being one of the ghosts in a ghost town, jk.

later~

So, did I miss part 1? I'm sure life is a little boring right now, but just enjoy it while it lasts if you can!
