As you have come to think of me as a penetrating and wise young woman (much to my amusement), I have come before you today to present to you a quandary that even I, the fount of all knowledge, have no answer for.
What the heck are earlobes for?!!!
I'm convinced that even the dust inside of the heating vent in front of me has a purpose in life - if not just to remind me that everything in life has a purpose. So then, what is the ear lobe's purpose? The pinkie toe serves for balance and agility - the eyelash to protect and send flirtatious messages. Even the belly-button served it's purpose for each of us (a useful place to store our lint collections). I just can't figure out why our bodies need to have earlobes. Perhaps, like the pinkie toe, they serve as a natural balancer. Or perhaps they have a sensitive nervous system that helps us predict the weather. The best thing I can think of is related to espionage - but regrettably, ELPC (Ear Lobe Pulling Code) is long since outdated due to the Vladivostok Fiasco of '93.
Hopefully I'll be enlightened after this life as to their use. But for now, I suppose that earlobes will remain one of life's great mysteries.

Hmm good question! I googled it and a few people had ideas- balance, sound directing, blood containment. You know if you rub the lobe then it makes the entire ear turn red? Also have you heard of reflexology? I think that is what its called. Basically it is believed that there are trigger points all over the body that make energy flow throughout. The hands, feet, and ears are said to contain points that connect with parts all over the body. Maybe the ear lobes connect to another place on the body?
