I am now the Saxiest girl in town.

Fo' rizzle, mah sizzles an bizzles. I now play the Saxophone! Not well...but I can produce an impressive repertouire: Mary had a little lamb, Hot cross buns, and possibly Pop-eye the sailor man! I know - pretty impressive. It's an interesting feeling...you pretty much have to do exactly the opposite thing with your mouth that you would do for the flute, excepting the blowing part (no duh). And it tickles when you blow because you have to make a thin peice of wood (called a reed) vibrate inside your mouth. Pretty weird. I kinda have to wonder sometimes where the ideas for this kind of thing come from. I mean, take the violin: some guy takes a bunch of strings, nails 'em to a hollowed out log, picks up some stick he used for cooking some indistinct animal for dinner and thinks to himself, " hmm....HMmmmm...Y'know - I think I may just take this stick here and drag it across them stings and see if any sound comes out." yep... Not that I don't love this strange world of wood and pipes and bows and levers and springs, but most of the time I'm pretty sure that these things that produce such amazing things in the air and in peoples' hearts can't really have been credited to the intellect of man. Alright - enough geekery.
